I completely missed this earlier today, but White Laces has put together a few live and studio tracks from the past year and released a new little album. There are some great songs on here The sax version of “Crawl/Collapse” featuring Ben Williams of Tungs is awesome.
Thanks to Sounds of RVA for pointing this out!

Every year, I put together a list of the best albums by Richmond bands up. And every year, there are some stellar records that you absolutely must hear. This year’s list had some truly amazing albums on it and three of the artists featured will be playing together for one night at Balliceaux.
The Trillions, White Laces and Anousheh have all had a great year, not only with their respective albums, but also getting eyes on the Richmond music scene. They’ll also be joined by the amazing DJ Big Chair. Come close out 2012 with a night of great RVA music. We invite everyone featured on the Best Albums of 2012 list and of course, all their fans and music lovers to come hang out, listen to some great bands and have fun with some of the best music of Richmond.

Technically, he’s not in Richmond anymore but he grew up here, plays around RVA often, most of the band is from here and it’s a really good album.

Check out White Laces‘ new video for “Heavy Nights” off of their new LP “Moves.” The video was directed by Lurid Pictures, who also helmed the Eternal Summers video for “Wonder.”

While it may be a scary time to be a woman these days thanks to all these regulations on abortions and the like, it’s good to know that many in Richmond will stick up for the ladies.
On Sunday, Oct. 14, Gallery5 plays host to “Ladies Night: A Women’s Rights Art Auction & Music Benefit Show,” a night of fundraising for the Richmond Reproductive Freedom Project. The RRFP is a non-profit committed to assisting women in need of medical reproductive services who are prohibited by location and income.
The night will feature live music by numerous local bands including White Laces, The Milkstains, Canary oh Canary, Julie Karr, Iron Reagan, Fire Bison, Constrictor and Apocalypse Dudes.
There will also be an art auction with pieces by numerous local artists including Greg Leach, Becky Carey, Brad D, Chris Brand, Chris Pittman, Emily Monroe, Lauren Fanney, Jenn Rockwell, Jett Harsh, Kristen Conover, Lloyd Young, Lydia Hodges, Marley Anderson, Allison Wick, Mattie Hinckley, Michael Otley, Michael Ramey, Naomi McCavitt, Nick Bryant, Sam Dixon, Tyler Thomas, Virgilio Nebel, Christian Austin, Wess Brockman and more. All proceeds are being donated to help out the RRFP, which in turn will help out many women in need.

If you don’t go to this show, you hate all good local Richmond music.

But in the chance you can’t go, then head to Steady Sounds on Saturday for this.
