Jack’s Mannequin Plays Benefit Show for Dan Duggins

June 22, 2010

Dan Duggins, Richmond native and onetime drummer for indie rockers Hot Rod Circuit, suffered a stroke earlier this year and his friends in Jack’s Mannequin are helping out with the bills.

The pop rockers are raising money for Duggins’ doctor’s bills with a benefit concert on Thursday, June 24. This show was originally scheduled to take place at Alley Katz, but has now been relocated to the Hat Factory. Tickets previously purchased to Alley Katz will be honored.

Richmond band Long Arms will be opening.

A blog on the band’s MySpace page says,

“Dan has been a dear friend to everyone in Jack’s Mannequin as well as many of the bands we’ve played with over the years. Like many musicians, Dan was unable to afford health insurance, and as you can imagine the cost of his care and recovery will be a significant burden to him and his family. In response to this need, the band and I have decided to do a benefit concert. We would love to have you join us to raise some money and celebrate a really amazing guy who needs our help.”
