Lobo Marino‘s newest album “Kite Festival,” which was recorded in front of a live studio audience in Richmond last month, will be packaged and ready to go with a free CD release show at Gallery 5 on Thursday, July 19, which will be their last Richmond show until December. Antlers and Dave Watkins will also be joining them. The next day will begin Lobo Marino’s long tour back to the West Coast.

Indie pop rock act Des Ark is embarking on a 43-date tour and will be performing at Strange Matter on Wednesday, March 9 with Antlers from RVA and Little Gold from Brooklyn.
About Des Ark:
Aimée Argote is the creative spirit behind the band name DES ARK. Even when performing as a trio with Noah Howard on guitar/bass and Johnny Ward on drums, Argote has always viewed Des Ark as a means to express her intensely personal political stances.
She hails from Philadelphia, by way of the Chapel Hill/Raleigh area of North Carolina. She’s released one full-length album, as well as a split record with Milemarker’s Ben Davis, and a handful of radio releases, and she has another full-length album on the way that took over three years to record. She does things in her own time, but she never remains idle. In between records, she’s toured all over the U.S. and Europe several times over and has cultivated a devoted following.
This spring, the full band will be touring across the U.S., in support of its latest release on Lovitt Records.
