HAMAGANZA!
December 6, 2012
Hamaganza is a big celebration to raise money for the Central VA Food Bank. The yearly celebration features hot burlesque chicks, midgets, drag queens, politicians, local celebs and plenty of debauchery.
This year’s performers include the usual cast of misfit local media celebrities, including WRIC’s Juan Conde, WTVR’s Amanda Meadows and Richmond Magazine’s Harry Kollatz, as well as a handful of elected officials like Kim Gray and Marty Jewell. And of course, as always the centerpiece of the entire event is Dirtwoman. The Hamaganza house band, Train Wreck, is a combo of semi-pro musicians from the Richmond music scene. The featured intermission will be Iggy Plop and the Splooges and word is there may also be a Neil Diamond cover band making an appearance.
The celebration takes place at Hardywood Park Brewery on Friday, Dec. 7 and LuLu’s on Saturday, Dec. 8. It’s a benefit so make sure to bring a ham (or a $10 donation).
