More Bands Announced for Shadrock Music Fest

March 7, 2012

After teasing its inital lineup for the Shadrock Music Fest on Brown’s Island on April 28, Style Weekly has announced the remaining acts playing the show. Joining De La Soul, Dum Dum Girls, Invisible Hand and Photosynthesizers are:

Yo La Tengo. These guys put on one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. The band plays for what seems like forever and the fans go nuts. This one is worth the price of admission.

Yo La Tengo – Periodically Double Or Triple

Yo La Tengo – Here to Fall

Yo La Tengo – Pass the Hatchet, I Think I’m Goodkind

Yo La Tengo – Beanbag Chair

Hip hop collective Shabazz Palaces have been making their way to listeners’ ears for the past year and have gotten the attention of Pitchfork and Rolling Stone as a band to watch. Haven’t heard much from them but eager to check it out.

Shabazz Palaces – Swerve…the reeping of all that is worthwhile (Noir not withstanding)

Shabazz Palaces – an echo from the hosts that profess infinitum

Noise synth rockers Kid Is Qual played an incredible show at Gallery5 last year. The guys literally lost their minds on stage. It was amazing to see that in action.

Kid Is Qual – Knights of Ole

Richmond rock band Kepone (featuring Michael Bishop of GWAR, Tim Harriss and Ed Trask) are reuniting for this one show. They were pretty much a staple of the local music scene in the 90s so it’ll be a treat seeing them together again.

Kepone – Ugly Dance

Kepone – Knifethrower
