Braving Short Pump in Rush Hour to See Matt Nathanson
December 8, 2011
Remember Matt Nathanson? He had that really catchy “Come On Get Higher” song that was overplayed for a while. The album where that song originates, “Some Mad Hope,” is quite a decent album that I really got into earlier this year and his new album “Modern Love” is quickly becoming a nice follow-up.
So imagine my surprise when I discover that Matt Nathanson will be performing in Richmond.
In Short Pump.
On Friday at 4:30 in the afternoon.
During the holidays.
Seriously, whoever planned the time and location of this performance needs their head examined.
It’s a part of Q94 and Lite98′s 36-hour live Radiothon at Short Pump Town Center to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation that will grant 30 wishes for Richmond-area children. It’s an all-weekend event also featuring performances by Andy Grammer and Outasight.
I’d really like to go, but at the high price of dealing with Short Pump at that time? Conundrum.

This has to be the best and worst news at the same time. There’s no way I can make this unless I magically get off work at 3. I remember seeing him with Jack’s Mannequinn at the National a couple years ago. I’ll have to check out the new album.
I’d LOVE to go see him! Saw him a few years ago when he opened for Lifehouse (I had free tix, I won’t pass up a free show). Except Short Pump at 4:30 on a Friday and while I’m working is a no-go.
I’m OBSESSED With Matt Nathanson! I’ll totally brave the crowd for this.
