Amy Henderson Says Farewell to Shenanigans
December 4, 2011
And another music venue bites the dust.
Northside bar and country and honky-tonk music hangout Shenanigans will be closing at the end of the year and bands will still perform until New Year’s. I could once again go into all the details on why this is awful and how Richmond is yet again losing another music treasure. But for the sake of my sanity and to keep spirits up, let’s talk about the music they still have coming, shall we?
Longtime Shenanigans mainstay Amy Henderson has been playing the venue and hosting its weekly Open Mic Night for over 10 years. And on Wednesday, Dec. 7, Amy will host and perform the final Open Mic Night and promises that it’ll be a show to remember. She’s already planning to have all of the bands she performs with – including The Orderlies, Dirty Blonde and Endymion – to come and play. And since Amy’s played there for so long, there are sure to be plenty of stories to tell.
Come to Shenanigans and say goodbye.
