Playful Sex or a Canon of Love?

November 10, 2011

Two shows going on tonight you may want to check out.

Asobi Seksu, which is colloquial Japanese for “playful sex,” released its self-titled debut album in 2004 to significant critical acclaim, receiving attention from the New York Times, Pitchfork and mtvU. The music is very haunting, yet very attention grabbing. Asobi Seksu is playing at the Camel tonight with Canary Oh Canary, the Trillions and the Absent Center (who are all perfect additions to play a show with).

Over at Stronghill Dining Company, Charlottesville 80s/bluegrass cover band Love Canon, who I’ve written about before. This will be the fifth gig Love Canon has had in Richmond. They’ve played Ballicaeux, VCU’s Singleton Center, The Camel and the Republic and they’ve been trying to find the right fit. We’ll see how Stronghill treats them.
