New Found Glory Says Pop Punk’s Not Dead
October 21, 2011
Listening to pop punk bands like New Found Glory seriously take me back to the early 2000′s where I would listen to them and bands like Good Charlotte (don’t judge), Allister, the Starting Line, the Ataris No Use For A Name and plenty of others. Band t-shirts, Chuck Taylors and punk rock jumps were constant in my life then.
I was in love with NFG’s self-titled album and their follow-up “Sticks and Stones,” but seriously disappointed in the next album “Catalyst” – which had the ironically titled “All Downhill From Here” as its single. They’ve had a few other less than stellar albums but they’ve got a new one coming out called “Radiosurgery,” which sounds promising after listening to the first single. Who knows? Pop punk may be rearing its head again in my life.
New Found Glory plays at the National on Friday, Oct. 21 with Set Your Goals, The Wonder Years, Man Overboard and This Time Next Year.
