Sometimes the best music comes from the minds of a set of musical geniuses.

Musicians Jonathan Vassar, David Shultz, Willis Thompson and Grant Hunicutt have banded together to form a side project called Ophelia. Named after the river house where they recorded, Ophelia is a nice reminder why these musicians are so great. They’re amazing in their own right, but when they comes together it’s something altogether different. I can’t quite put my finger on it but there’s something magical here that makes me want to come back to hear more.

The group will be performing various shows throughout the summer. Their first show is at Gallery 5′s RVyAy! event and on Memorial Day Sunday (May 30) at the Camel with Prabir/Goldrush and Lexi & Kate.
